Mopur Nord Italia Srl produces foodstuffs based exclusively on vegetable ingredients.
The company has got the permit to use the registered patent from its owner, Mr. Beniamino Anzalone, in order to start the production of “Vegetable Meat”.
Through its discoverer’s words, let us follow the story of MOPUR and the “vegetable meat”:
From an extract of Mr. Beniamino Anzalone's “Diary of Patents”:
“I was working wheat gluten, when a good idea that could improve the traditional seitan struck me. So, I put it into practice and I obtained a change in the cellular consistency of the dough that got a “micro-fibrillar” structure very similar, if not identical, to the one of meat.
The result was surprising but not completely unexpected”.
In 1986 I registered the first Italian patent under the name “Vegetable Meat”. In 1998 the patent protection was extended to Europe.
In 2000, intuition guided me a second time and I succeeded in making the natural process on which today's MOPUR is based and that permits the resolution of complex proteins of wheat gluten into amino acids. reproducible “Vegetable Meat” took the name “MOPUR”.
Later, the patent was extended to the main extra-European countries, such as U.S.A, Canada, China, Australia and Mexico among others.
In 2001, a cooperation agreement with a consumer cooperative made it possible to start the production of “MOPUR vegetable meat”; at that time the associates were the very first consumers of this product. This experience enabled the improvement of the organoleptic properties of MOPUR and the growth through product diversification.
The time has come to increase MOPUR production:
MOPUR NORD ITALIA Srl was founded!
In november 2006 some people close to the discoverer establish the MOPUR NORD-ITALIA Srl. The company gets the permit to use the registered patent as well as the sole-trading right in Northern Italy and the possibility to develop a sales network in the other Italian regions and in Europe.
In Mai 2007 MOPUR NORD-ITALIA Srl obtains the health authorisation no. 419/07 and can start the production of vegetable foodstuffs but only with conventional row materials.
In September 2007 the company gets the permit to produce through organic methods (ICEA Conformity Certificate specific for vegetable product processing) and enters the market of organic foodstuff production with its certified product of high quality.
